mr. L ran to dunkin donuts for birthday breakfast.
per the birthday girl's request.

just a couple of favorite things she
was gifted today.
unfortunantly, she caught my fetish for purses/bags...
ah hem...i mean "pocketbook"..
that's what it's referred to here in the south.
big brother got her a notebook and some colored gel pens
showing her godmother dulce and uncle joe
 her new converse shoes that
they sent via mail!
she wore them today and absolutely hearts them!
birthday dinner at  qdoba's mexican grill...
and having her favorite steak queso burrito...
birthday girl with her handsome dad
this last pic is for all of you...
 dear family and friends...
who sent birthday cards and gifts...
ya'll made her birthday very extra special!

today also marks the end of month 3,
90 days out of 365 days done!
(flickr project365)
however, in all of the busyness this past week,
with family visiting, entertaining and my girly's birthday...
i completely forgot to take a picture of my monthly cupcake : (.
in celebrating month #3!
i think i will try and do that tomorrow...
it'll be one day late.

...linking this post to sweet shots @ darcy's place.

tradition...

tomorrow is miss girly's birthday!
we spraypainted the school spirit rock
here's how it turned out.
thankful that big sis picked out the colors and
big brother was around to help
get it done!

on another note,  my guy interviewed for chick fil a
this afternoon.  now we just sit tight until he gets
a call back to let us know he's been hired
or to say "thanks, but no thanks".
our hope is the first and not the latter.
please continue to keep that in your prayers.

a day with my girls...

while mr. L and my guy took the guests/family
on a little day trip to duke university and chapel hill,
the girls and i hung out at home in the a.m...
went to my girly's first basketball session,
headed to south park mall for a bit to browse,
and then i took the girls on a surprise
manicure and i got a pedicure.

what a treat!
in a previous post i mentioned i'm not big on prettying my
nails but since both of my girls love
pretty nails
it was a nice surprise for them.
miss bling picked turquoise...
my girly picked green...
and i picked a coral/orange color for my toes!
in the car we had the radio blasting...
we sang to the tunes...
and even danced while driving...
girls day ended with
mocha freeze and chocolate/vanilla swirl yogurt.
a loveLee, simpLee, loveLee day
today with my two
beautiful girls!

family+food=good times

cousin H and auntie K flew in today all the way from
"the city by the bay"
(san francisco)
into the
"Q.C"
(charlotte aka the queen city).
and with them they brought two bags of round flat fortune cookies...

2 dozen sponge cakes

some chinese pastries
and all of which came from san francisco's chinatown.
can you believe that? they lugged all of this with them.
thankful that they did because these are hard to
come by in these parts.

they also brought some spices and noodles to make the
vietnamese noodle soup called pho.

which was on the menu for tonight's dinner.

enjoyed some time playing a german card game called legretto.

the girls made some chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

and we watched the movie "blind side" which i have waited to watch
for like forever.  i don't like to pay theatre prices so i often wait for movies to come
out on dvd.  i've heard nothing but great things about it and so i bought the
movie at target the other day.  i'm glad i did and i have to say it is now
my favorite movie of all times.
i'm such a sucker for feel good movies...
i heart that's it's a true story.
and it truelee is extraordinary
and such an inspiration.

the evening ended with the girls camping out in the loft area.
they pitched a tent and managed to all squeeze in there.
sweet.
