just some snapshots...

of my day today.  it's thursday which means it's my friday!  looking forward to my three day weekend which i have every weekend.  friday's are my ME days since the kids have started school and mr. L is at work.  first thing on the agenda in the a.m. is to go on a run and catch up on some little projects i've been meaning to do.  for the rest of the weekend we have no plans but that doesn't mean anything really because most of the times we do things on a whim and that's how we roll and it works.  well, most of the time anyways.

i can't believe that my card reader isn't working, therefore, i can't upload my picture/s of the day.  however, i can tell you that it would have been pictures of the billy graham library located here in charlotte, nc.  my parents and aunt are still in town so we took them there since my aunt had never been.  most of the pictures i took were of billy graham's beautifully decorated childhood home.  i'm hoping that once i get this card reader to work i can upload them so you can also see how super cute it is.

update...it wasn't my card reader but it was my memory card that got corrupted.  auuuggghhh!  thankfully, ritz camera has a recovery system where they can recover the files from a corrupted memory card.  thank goodness but the downside is i have to pay for the service. well, since i can't post the pictures i took on my camera here's a picture that i took on my dad's camera of billy graham's childhood home.

stalls filled with organic and locally grown fruits and veggies!  i arrived a little too late today so i didn't get to walk away with a basket full of strawberries like i had planned.

so i ended up buying my strawberries from costco instead.  i do love the california grown strawberries from costco i find them much sweeter than the locally grown ones.  shhhh! let's keep that on the down low : ).

until the new school year starts up again.

i took pictures on my phone today.  it actually didn't turn out too bad at all.  i emailed the pictures to myself, then uploaded it onto picnik to get the polaroid look.  it was a pretty tedious process but i had a little time to spare.  it really would be so much easier if blackberry had the shakeitphoto application that iphone does!  and for those that don't know about this application here is the description.  it's really pretty cool and i so long for an iphone.  maybe one day soon.

i drive by this consignment/antiques store all the time and i have always wanted to stop by to take a peek at what they have.  i heart browsing through consignment shops in hopes of maybe finding a treasure that happens to be in my price range.  i did see a few things i thought about buying but i didn't.

but i really, really, heart this trunk! however,  the price tag was a little on the high side. so i ended up walking out of there without anything in hand.  maybe next time.

whilst there...

miss bling came home from the beach yesterday.  so i had both girls home and we headed to the mall to pick a birthday present and to pick up another pair of sunglasses at urban outfitters for miss bling because hers broke at the beach and they were her favorite pair and that's where she bought them.  whilst there, i happened to walk into their dressing room and they had these beautiful chandeliers.  i just had to take a picture.

i also noticed that they sold chinese slippers! woah! blast to the past!  i remember that trend back in the days.  i started to have flashbacks of me walking through san francisco's grant ave in chinatown looking for a pair.  

my girls love these flutter mini skirts!  they are the hottest trend these days and they sure had quite a selection at urban. the price for each skirt ranged anywhere from $38.00 up to $68.00!  wow, what a mark up!  i thought to myself... i can make these!  well, i could sure at least try.

so after the mall we headed to the fabric store to to pick up the materials i would need to try and create a cheaper version of these flutter mini skirts.  i spent $6.00 for two different types of fabric and some elastic. i will make an attempt tomorrow.  i hope it turns out!  i'll post pics tomorrow, ahem, that's if they turn out.

and we would all get to stay home.

however, at 5:30 a.m.

local news announced that schools were in session and some districts 2 hour delays.

but nonetheless, we all had to get up and get ourselves ready.

i started to get a craving for some pad thai after my

coworker had it for lunch at work,

so afterschool, i headed over to the local thai restaurant

in downtown, 3 blocks from where i work,

and picked up an order to take home along with

thai iced coffee!

it was yummy!

i didn't eat it all...saved half for the hubby.

lastly, fooling around with the different photo effects.

i used a 60's effect on these.

the past photos in previous posts i was trying to 

achieve a more vintage look.
