saturday farmers market...
we're going on our 4th year here and i have been meaning to visit our local
saturday farmers market but i just haven't been able to get up early enough
to peruse the aisles of local grown fresh fruit and veggies.
here's what it looks like after hours : )
i heart this bench...
super cute.
the market information booth
i guess???
with the painted quotes...
a bench for fresh flowers i'm assuming...
hope to visit when springtime comes.

craft room inspired...
inspired by paper cake finds crafty room inspiration post and my dream post of a craft/studio room last week. i had been pondering on making that somewhat of a reality. my dining room has been a disheveled mess with all of my craft things covering the entire length of the dining table. i had stuff ranging from sewing items, scrapbook paper supplies, handstamped jewelry tools, photography camera supplies, computer related stuff...just everything, crazy, messy, all over. i really needed to find a space to set up all of this stuff because i had them randomly stored all over the house. I needed one specific area to store everything. i thought about our attic/3rd floor but it's so far away from everyone else in the home. so I decided to set up in our loft area on the 2nd floor which overlooks the family room.
this was the loft area before...
look at the bookshelf...shame, shame...
such a mess but the built in bookshelves was
exactly what i needed for this D.I.Y project.

i bought the jars at our local goodwill to store all of the little stuff such as these
some crafty/arts books
my jewelry making supplies
space for my sewing area and all the goodies
scrapbook paper supplies
a space for all of my yarn
some of my favorite magazines
the finished somewhat organized shelf
here's what it looks like now.
i'm not quite done yet. i still need to work on the computer area.
the walls need to be accessorized but i'm not sure yet
how i want to accessorize it.

thankful thursday...
thankful for my nikki who helps me capture moments, places, and things
such as these...
as i sat in my car stuck behind a garbage truck
which was taking forever...
i captured this
56/365 flickr project365
thankful that I get to see and appreciate little children's artwork
everyday when i go to work...
and from the book i am reading called
Crazy Love...
Have you ever marveled at the simple fact that plants take in carbon dioxide
(which is harmful to us)
and produce oxygen
(which we need to survive)?
I'm sure you knew that but have you ever marveled at it?
And these same poison-swallowing, life-giving plants came from tiny seeds
that were once placed in the dirt. Some were watered, some weren't;
but after a few days they poked through the soil and out into the warm sunlight.
Whatever God's reasons for such diversity, creativity, and sophistication in the universe,
on earth, and in our own bodies, the point of it all is HIS glory.
God's art speaks for Himself, reflecting who He is and what he is like.
thankful that everyday during my carpool post at work
i get to see and watch these tulip bulbs
grow, open, and bloom.
God's art speaking for himself.
sweet!

national pancake day...
at IHOP
so guessing by the title
you all know where we went to eat today.
afterschool the kids and myself headed out to enjoy
all that they ask is that you consider making a donation to children's miracle network.
a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of
children by raising funds for children's hospitals.
so there's still time if you're in the west coast to go eat some free pancakes
and please do consider making a donation.
happy national pancake day!

it was nice to see some flowers in the entrance of our neighborhood.
a reminder that spring is on its way.
i had an iced coffee from JJ Poloi's
in the bi-lo grocery store.
i also enjoyed going through a box of loveLee clothes
handed down to me.
i heart hand-me-downs.
it's the best!
i heart the pair of boots but unfortunantly it's a little too big for me,
just a little bit.
ssssshhhh.....i think i'm gonna try and make it work anyway : )
but if i can't get away with it then i will have to find
someone else to gift them to : (.
(sniffling at the thought of not being able to keep them)
and afterschool i had artichoke dip ready for the kids to eat
and I caputured girly cute
working on her social science portolio.
good-bye monday
i'll see you next week.

did you know?
that you can save a wet cell phone by putting it in a container of rice
because rice can absorb an incredible amount of moisture.
52/365 flickr project365
i guess from the picture you can tell that we're trying to save a phone.
girly cute's phone fell in the sink with the water running.
she was very quick to catch it so it didn't get soaked.
She immediately put it in a bowl of rice and left it in there overnight.
thankfully, when she turned the phone on this morning it worked!
so if your phone ever gets wet, you can try this tip!

oh, beautiful saturday
i had to make a run to the store early this morning
to pick up some breakfast food for m.o.g and a few of his
buddies who spent the night.
as i was walking up to pay for my items
the new issue of "Southern Living" magazine caught my eye.
i felt it calling my name.
"alely, alely, buy me, i know you want to"
i don't normally buy magazines but I was envisioning
myself having breakfast in the back porch reading this issue.
so i caved in, i splurged and bought it!
oh, yes i did!
31/365 flickr project365
and yes, i enjoyed breakfast out in the back porch on this
oh, beautiful saturday.
and while i ate and read my magazine
and while i ate and read my magazine
the warmth from the sun hitting against my back
felt so good.
i hope your saturday was just as loveLee as mine.
