yes, this crazy shutter bug mom captured my guy in his uniform. his first shift at chick-fil-a was today. i'm glad he cooperated and appeased my obsession to capture all of these milestone moments. he came home and said it was a good first day! he really enjoys the people he works with and the store managers. that's a good thing!

in my home...
happy monday friends!
thank you for all of your comments.
i apologize for my lack of visiting yours but now that
i'm back at work i've been finding it hard to find time
to visit and comment. i do hope to catch up soon.
***
we had a great 1st day of school at work today.
and boy was i tired from the busyness and it will probably
be like this for the week.
in fact, i was so tired i almost forgot to take a picture today
and lacked creativity in being creative
(humm...did that last phrase make sense?)
anyhoo, when that happens i tend to take random pictures of things in my home.
you see that pottery barn phone at the end?
it's one of my all -time favorites!
funny thing is...
we don't have a landline!
it's just a decor piece that i just love.

a little bit of creole...
dinner with friends tonight at creole's. for appetizers we had fried pickles and okra. for our entree we had shrimp and grits, green beans and for dessert we enjoyed warm pecan pie. i forgot to take a picture of the pie because of my excitement of getting to enjoy something sweet tonight. of course, it was all very yummy!

charming and quaint...
i love our little downtown. it's where i work, it's where the the town library is located, it has a few places to grab a bite to eat, and it's so charming and quaint. today the mr. and I had a lunch date in town. i was craving some thai food so we went to our favorite little thai restaurant. the owner and staff are very nice and they are very quick to get your order out. the mr. had an order of pad thai and i had yellow chicken curry and a tall glass of thai iced coffee. oh, so yummy!

chicken sandwich...
hello friends! well, after months of filling out job applications and waiting for that opportunity i'm happy to announce that my guy's wait is finally over. all in one week he had 4 different employers call him and he interviewed for two and was offered a job for both places. can you guess which one he chose? yes, he is now an employee of chick-fil-a...the original chicken sandwich. congratulations my guy! i know you were discouraged at times but God had a plan...just all in His time not ours.
f.y.i...i heart chick-fil-a...i especially love their sweet tea. it's my favorite!

oh, sweetLee roll...
our secret easy, peasy, when-we're-craving-sushi but can't afford to spend $100.00 for a party of five. this satisfies the craving.
1st: you'll need cooked rice sprinkled with some roasted sesame seeds (optional)
of which i don't have a picture of.
2nd: you'll need some single serve packs of nori.
(found in asian stores near you)
3rd: gold coast blue crab spread or lobster spread
4th: some soy sauce and sriracha sauce
start off with the nori, spread the lobster or crab spread, rice, then add some sriracha sauce and soy sauce. however, if you prefer to dip in soy sauce you can do that too! no rolling required. just pick it up with chopsticks or your fingers!
oh, and if you wanted to get fancy you could also put some cut/sliced shrimp tempura found at your local trader joe's and costco. we didn't have shrimp tempura on hand for tonight's rolls, hence the reason why you don't see it in the picture.
bon appetit!
