5/365 "Rite of Passage"

No creativity with this photo, just an important photo shot of "A day in the Life of the Lee Family". Michael passed another rite of passage in his life. He passed his road test and he's now a full fledged driver! Oh joy! Now the worrying begins :-).
I must share with all of you that we had to make two, yes, two trips to the DMV because I forgot to bring proof of liability insurance called the DL-123 the first time. I'm sure you could all imagine the look on my face when she asked me for it and I'm sure you can imagine the look on Michael's face when I didn't have it. I felt awful and dissappointed in myself for not having all my ducks in a row and for the time that we wasted. Aaaauuuugggghhhhh! We've waited for this day for so long and now we had to wait another 2 days because the next available appointment is for Thursday morning (which the news is forecasting snow for that day). We then proceeded out of DMV so that I could drop him off at school and head off to work. I felt TERRIBLE and I wanted to make things right, you know fix it, because that's what mom's do. I called Nelson and had him ask our insurance guy to fax him the proof of insurance, after work I picked up the form from him, picked Michael up from school and headed back to DMV and the whole time driving there I was praying for somewhat of a little miracle... that we'd get through this process quickly. We were pressed for time, he had to be back at school by 3:30 to leave for a basketball game. And you know those DMV's, without an appointment the wait time...unpredictable!
The Lord was on our side. PTL! We walked in, I handed the required paperwork, waited for Michael's number to come up which was less than a 10 minute wait, he took his road test and we were out of there in less than 40 minutes! I couldn't believe it! Needless to say, he was happy that he passed and I was happy that I was able to fix it :-).
I have to admit this moment is very bittersweet. I'm overjoyed with the fact I will be relieved from a lot of driving to and from, here and there, but sad at the same time because my kids are growing up and older. That's the sad truth.
