it's been a while...

the best thing i find about social network sites such as facebook is that you can find or reconnect with so many,  especially family members whom you've lost contact with over the years.  i heart those the most. a few months ago i reconnected with an uncle i have not seen since my wedding, which is almost two decades ago.  this was the first time he's met the kids, two out of the three anyways.  (miss bling is in florida for their freshman class trip, hence the reason why she's not in the picture.)

through facebook he told me that he would be flying into charlotte from southern california to attend a convention for his company. he would have never come to charlotte otherwise.  he arrived sunday night  but tonight was the only night he had a few hours to visit.  we had a loveLee time catching up over dinner at a wonderful italian place uptown.  he wanted to drive around since he'll probably never make it out this way again,  so we gave him a quick mini tour of the QC, we drove by my sissy's house, went to our house for a few then drove him back to his hotel.  he had an early flight out back to southern california in the morning.

this gift i have just unwrapped is rare and so far and few between.  reconnecting with friends and loved ones whom you lost touch with and actually being able to get together to sit, chat and catch up.

otherwise disappeared, under the pile of daily tasks.

grandma and the nguyen family arrived today from california.

the next set of family comes on friday and the last on monday.

i am joining chatting at the sky's

tuesday unwrapped on thursday this week.

it goes along the lines of being thankful which i normally do

a thankful thursday post anyways.

anywho, "unwrapping is about seeing the small things in the

midst of our everyday, pausing in the moment and celebrating"

i am unwrapping the gift of our 

mcdonald's thursday tradition.

items from the dollar menu of course : ).

this tradition started the beginning of the school year

and since thursday's are my friday's,

it was my gift to treat the kids to 

mcd's on thursdays after i would pick them up from school.

i don't pick them up from school anymore now that my guy

is driving, but we still keep the tradition going.

we don't always do mcd's, sometimes we'll mix it up

a little and pick up something else.

one other gift i am unwrapping is the gift

of my girly encouraging me to get

out there and start running again.

we've put in a good run these past few days

and the times spent with her have

been quite lovelee.
