spring break in new york...

for spring break
michael took off to the beach for a week with his friends
and meagan went to NYC with her junior class trip.
with one child left
n and i decided to take maddie to NYC too!
we left the morning of maddie's 14th birthday...
and enjoyed her birthday dinner at lucky burgers because
a burger is what she wanted for her birthday!
a few pics while walking around...
gramercy park
irving plaza for sunday morning worship
at hillsong church nyc...
coincidentally we bumped into mother/daughter
lisa and mollie from church.
the ceiling of grand central station...
grand central station
at the new york public library
an outdoor reading library at bryant park
so cool!
it rained...
grubbed on some NY style pizza numerous times
because we couldn't get enough!

and to satisfy our sweet tooth we had some black and white cookies.
visiting times square...
and we were fortunate to meet up with meagan for a few minutes.
subway riding...
yes,
we enjoyed NYC public transportation!
oh, yeah it was cold!
911 memorial
we took the staten island ferry so that
we could get a better view of the statue of liberty
for free.
a view of lower manhattan from the ferry boat...
after the ferry ride we headed to chinatown...
and snacked on some baked dim sum yummyness!
little italy next to chinatown...
corner market and grocery stores...
we ate at totto ramen for
some amazing hot ramen noodle soup!
we also enjoyed a bento box of
salad, tonkatsu and california rolls!

on our last morning we took a run through central park.
while maddie strolled on a rented bike
alongside us.
it was the perfect ending to an awesome and fun
trip to one of my most loved cities.

How fun. My girlfriends and I were JUST talking about how fun it would be to take the girls to NYC when they get a little older. I'll need to get some tips from you when the time comes.
