another year older...

today is my dad (in CA) and mr. L's birthdays!  tradition around here is breakfast in bed for the birthday celebrant and per mr. L's request the kids and i prepared a filipino breakfast which consists of: garlic rice, eggs, and bacon.  for lunner (lunch-dinner)  we headed to penquin drive-in.  a local dive featured in the t.v. show: diners, drive-ins, and dives.  ever since they featured penguin we've been wanting to try it and that we did.  they are famous for their burgers and fried pickles.  yes, fried pickles which was absolutely deelish!  everything was deelish.  we ended the day with football and banana cream pie!  twas a great birthday day today. very low-key and chill.
happy birthday...mr. L and pa...another year older and wiser!
