toms = one for one...
TOMS
"with every pair you purchase,
TOMS will give a pair of new shoes
to a child in need. ONE for ONE."
to a child in need. ONE for ONE."
i first heard about TOMS through lola's girl then again from my daughter miss bling and i have been wanting a pair ever since. and then on our visit to california, BAM! my cousin d had a men's pair on. i was told you could purchase them at nordstorms so whilst shopping in san francisco we headed over there.
they looked super cute, super comfy and every purchase was for a great cause. unfortunantly, they did not have my size. however, my cousin g walked away with a pair of black ones! yay! a pair for her and a pair for a child in need!
today, i went to nordstroms here in charlotte and they had my size in both black and ash. i decided on the ash so i happily made my purchase and took my new pair of TOMS home with me. yay! a pair for me and a pair for a child in need!
just in case you're wondering
they come in many colors and a few different styles...
remember...

love me a good bargain...
i am always looking for a good deal. call me a bargain hunter. i never pay full price for an item, well...humm...97.55% of the times anyways. i am also a mall/target/outlet mall rat and the other day we were at one of the outlet malls in the area and i stumbled across this dress in the clearance section of wet seal. yes. me..a 40 something mom in wet seal but with 15 and 12 year old daughters, this store along with F21 is where you will find them and me : ).
back to the deal...it was on clearance for OMG....$3.00 dollars! i didn't really like the style of the dress, it looked a little blah and when i tried it on it wasn't very flattering at all. but because i really, really loved the pattern and for $3.00 i bought it anyways thinking that i can make this work. i know i can.
i tried it on with this belt and my girls actually both nodded their head "yes" and with smiles to boot! i was pleasantly surprised because most of the times i'll try something on and they'll both say "no, mom".so here's how it looks on the hanger with the belt attached to it. i think it's super cute, comfy, and summery.
i heart this bargain! have you found any bargains lately? if so what was your find?

i'm a casual kind of girl and during the summer i prefer to wear skirts and dresses over shorts and i live in my flip flops and strappy sandals!
these are my favorite strappy flats that i bought from forever 21 for $7.50!
and i think i have every color of the old navy 2 for $5.00 flip flops!
and my most favorite summer wear are my rainbows! i can walk everywhere and anywhere in these babies!

made by me...
ok, so i managed to finish two skirts today. the skirt on the far right was my model skirt. miss bling bought that one at forever 21. i used that to figure out how to make the blue one all the way to the left.

thank you to miss girly for modeling the finished skirts for me. not bad for a girl who took a home economics class back in 7th grade and one beginning sewing class 2 decades ago. now onto buying a few more different fabrics and making a few more skirts for the girls.on another note, the winner for last friday's giveaway is...
I will be contacting you shortly for your mailing instructions!

Hair we go!
So I never thought I'd blog about my hair but just thought I'd be RANDOM today and just blog about it. I have come to realize that as much as I love long hair the shorter length is much easier to maintain. Well, back in September, I believe on the 13th I made the decision to *as the Nike slogan goes...."Just Do It!"* and went with a hairstyle I have been pondering on for a few years now. I just never had the guts to make the drastic change. I loved the new cut and the new look and so did everyone else, including my kids! Can you imagine that?
Well, it's been 12 weeks since the cut, enough time to ponder on growing it out or cutting it. It was also starting to get on my nerves! I made the decision last Thursday that I needed to go in and cut it and so I did.
