we're home, home... in north carolina. and i have to say it was an amazing week! our trip back to california outdid all of my expectations. it's always so good to go home and the wonderful thing about it is that each year when we go back it's as if we never left. so for 9 whole days, we made memories, we visited, we laughed, we ate, ate and ate with family and friends.
i miss it. i miss the smell of my mom and dad's house, i miss mystras circle, i miss our swimming pool, i miss having easy access to the wide variety of ethnic foods when i'm craving it, i miss being a drive away from san francisco and southern california, i miss the dry heat, and i miss the comfort of knowing everyone i love, everyone i'm close to, is there.
but things change, people grow and life has different seasons. so what happens when your heart is in two places you call home? i just have to remember and to remind my kids is that it's ok to get homesick. it's ok to feel nostalgic, and it's ok to miss all those that we love. God has a specific plan for our family and moving to north carolina was one of them. He's provided a wonderful community of friends through church, school, neighbors and family close by. i am blessed!
as they say home is where the heart is and my heart will always have two homes and that's ok, i have a big heart. there's definitely room for sharing.

Hi Good Friend, we have moved so many times. My heart is with dear friends in every place. I know how you feel. the Lord knew that I needed to meet you and your family (Don too). Gosh, it's good to have you here!
We're heading off to California next week and it's as if we never skipped a beat when we get there. It's always so hard to leave. Someday we'll make it our home again but for now, our hearts are in 2 places too.
