day 159 flickr project365
and one of the best experiences we've all had. a 3.5 mile exotic safari animal drive thru park. you can ride in your vehicle here through the gently sloping pasturelands of piedmont, north carolina. i've always been told how fun this place was so today this was on the agenda. visit lazy 5 ranch with my kids and family visiting from CA.
6 plastic container full of feed...
@ 5 mph...
we were swarmed by these ginormous
creatures of nature, they were not afraid
and came a runnin' towards us and surrounded us ...
we weren't expecting them to be so
crazy, wild, and in our face...
that it frightened and spooked us all a little bit...
this gal was a cutie...
so was she...
we really enjoyed feeding the milder, calmer and friendlier ones like this guy...
pink nails against the zebra pattern...
we loved these guys...
these guys we kept our distance from...
but these guys and gals we loved...
cheese...
none of us have ever gotten so close to a giraffe before...
she's another cutie...
and 3 hours later, 200 pictures taken, 2 trips around the drive thru park viewing animals from 6 different continents, we were finally done! an AMAZING experience! if you are ever near the charlotte, north carolina area this is a must see and do to put on your list of things to do. you will enjoy it! we sure did!

Your hair is longer! I have to take a pic of myself, I cut off 6 inches a few weeks ago!! It's short!
LOVE this! My kids would go crazy for this. We were just in that area, too. What a bummer I didn't know about it. Hope to be back there soon, though. GREAT pics!
This looks amazing. My kids would love this. Looks like we have to make a trip out there. When we were in Ca., before kids, we visited the park in San Diego just like this one. I think it'll be more fun with the kids though. So fun!!
I've only been to one of these drive thru safaris and the animals had no sense of personal space. They were all about the food. I like the shot of the girls all backing away.
