L.A...shopping...food trucks...

crossed some things off of my...
"things to do whilst in california list"...
bargain shopping at santee alley which is
located in the fashion district of los angeles...
outlet shopping at the citadel factory outlet...
and one of most important thing i wanted to cross off my list was to
find and eat from the "nom nom food truck!".
i have been totally obsessed with them ever since i
watched "the great food truck race" on the food network channel last year.

thanks to jozen from "lola's girl" she told me that their daily truck schedule
was on their website and to follow their tweets.
today's tweet:

 Nom Nom Truck

the day was getting late and i didn't think we'd make it since we
really didn't know where the location was
but we happened to take the back streets back to the hotel to avoid
the LA traffic on the freeway and
as we were driving along "the lobster truck" happened to catch
miss bling's eye!
sure enough i double checked the tweet...
and yes!
that's where they were...
i ordered a bahn mi...
it was soooo good...
the family told me to buy another one!
miss bubbles and the hubby stood in line for ice cream
at the coolhaus ice cream truck...
they ordered an ice cream sandwich...
chocolate cookies with thin mint ice cream.
and my guy ordered
red velvet chocolate chip pancakes from the buttermilk truck...
everything we ordered was yummylicious!!!!
and i was just thrilled to pieces that the family and i got to experience
the food truck craze that's
all the rage down in southern california!
it was a great way to end a fantabulous day...
and from this nomster...
"may the Nom be with you!"....

we made it & our first foodie stop...

we have arrived safely at our california destination.
and of course our first foodie stop
was at in-n-out!

where we feasted on the most
mouth watering, delicious, delectable
burgers ever along with their famous fries!
we crave these little guys and we're so glad
to have satisfied the cravings!
now if you ever visit the "golden state"
then a stop at an in-n-out is a must!

embrace the camera...

i have the best co-workers ever!
they are just an amazing group of women...

we laugh together,
we eat together,
we make fun of each other,
we hurt for each other,
we pray for each other,
we encourage each other.

i'm very blessed to see these ladies everyday...
for 6 hours a day...
monday through thursday!

embracing the camera with them...

(four out of seven of us)
beautiful aren't they?
inside and out...

and it's official...

i now have an 8th grader, a junior and a senior in highschool!
i can't believe how time flies.

as soon as the new school year starts
my guy will be busy filling out those college applications,
looking for and applying for scholarships...

thankfully, he had the opportunity to
attend UNC Chapel Hill's Project Uplift
with his bff...
they left on a road trip to chapel hill last thursday
and got to experience dorm and campus life for a few days.
Each year, high school guidance counselors across North Carolina nominate students to attend the two-day program. They are from the top 25 percent of their class and are from historically underrepresented populations: African American, American Indian, Latina/o, Asian American, low-income, rural and first-generation.
Project Uplift allows students to experience Carolina for themselves and gain essential information about the campus.
The program’s main goal is to recruit students to UNC-Chapel Hill, but program organizers also focus on helping students choose the college, university or higher education opportunity that best serves their needs. Campus administrators and faculty show the students how to apply for scholarships and student aid, as well as teach them how to apply themselves in an academic setting.
Project Uplift challenges and encourages students to become leaders. Participants leave knowing more about themselves and others, and how to make a college experience work for them. UNC-Chapel Hill is a committed and inclusive community of people who want to make life successful. Participants have the opportunity to learn, to network and to make lifelong friends.
it was a great opportunity for both of them.
they learned a lot and it was a great experience!
