had study and dinner out in the back porch with the 

fire going in their beautiful outdoor brick fireplace.

our microwave has been on it's last leg and it finally died on us so we got a new one!

sunrising & happy friday!...

miss girly had to get to school yesterday morning by 7 a.m.!  the mister was suppose to drive her as we had planned the night before but realized in the wee hours of the morning that he had a meeting at 8 a.m.. and if he had to drive her he would not make it to his meeting on time with the rush hour traffic.  so i had to get myself up, ready and in the car with miss girly by 6:30!  i don't know bout you but that's much too early for me : ).

anyhoo, the drive through country roads and with the sun rising on the horizon made for a beautiful drive.

sweet obsessions...

yellow seems to be the color these days.

in fact, i was totally obsessed yesterday when my coworker

came to work with a yellow mustard cardigan sweater.

i had to get my hands on one.

asked some fellow twitters and they suggested a few stores.

i checked:

anthropologie: but everything there is over my budget,

j. crew: over my budget as well.

old navy:  they had none.

and oh, sweet joy even suggested an online shop called yesstyle.com and they had this:

cute, yeah?

and the price is reasonable too.

well, the funny thing is that i completely forgot i had an almost mustard yellow

sweater that i had gotten at F21 a couple of years ago for $9.50!

i just never wore it.

i bought it because of the price but wasn't really into the color at the time

but now i'm just loving it!

glad i happened to stumble upon it in my closet this morning.

oh, and please pardon the mess in the background ; )

it's going to be a beautiful friday here in the queen city.  looks like it's going to be 76 degrees! yippy skippy!  it's half day for the kids.  picking up miss bling and friends then taking them to cheesecake factory for a little bit of girl time for miss bling's 16th two weeks later.  then chillin' for the rest of the weekend!

happy friday friends!  

bunting banner a-making...

i'm still working on organizing my creative space area.  i know it's taking a while but i'm almost there.  i've been wanting to make a bunting banner for my creative space but i just didn't know what i wanted to make it out of.  did i want to sew and make one out of fabric? or did want to make one out of scrapbook paper? i had plenty of both but i also had plenty of home decorating magazines and i thought hey what about pages from my fave mags?

so this afternoon that's exactly what i made my bunting banner out of.  i may have mentioned this in a past post long ago and that is i'm a pack rat when it comes to home decorating magazines.  i save them all...pottery barn, better homes and gardens, southern living, country living, real simple...

i keep them in the living room, in my bedroom, in the family room, in the bathrooms and the guest room. i even dog ear pages that inspire me so that i can refer back to them.  

so here's what i did...i ripped out a few pages from some of them.  made a triangle template and started cutting away.

picked out this yarn from my yarn stash, used my hole puncher to punch two holes in each triangle piece and threaded the yarn through them.

so here's the final bunting banner made from the collection of my magazines.  cute eh?  oh, and yes that's just a little part of the creative space that i'm still slowly and surely re-organizing.
