"...off to eat filipino food...at last! Trumps a turkey anyday..." my sister's status on fb.  filipino food/restaurants...we have not one in these parts so i have to actually make the dishes and the one time i actually make more than one dish is Thanksgiving Day.  So, no gobble, gobble for us.  just some homecooked filipino food.

for my ma...

shopped, boiled, cut, chopped, shredded, peeled, marinated, wrapped, stir fried, washed and cleaned the kitchen for tomorrows meal.  from start to finish in preparation only to finish up tomorrow.  it took 12 hours with a 2 hour break late afternoon to take miss girly to basketball practice.  lol...and that's with the girls helping me with a few of the tasks.  

because cooking is not my forte' and it's not exactly something i enjoy doing... i do it for my family and that's the joy i get from it.  so it really made me appreciate my mom so much more.  years of seeing her host for the big holiday family parties and being there as she planned, stressed, shopped for the food, boiled, cut, shredded, peeled, etc all day was definitely something i took for granted.  so thank you MA for all of your time, effort and love through your cooking...past, present and future.  I love you...

buyer for a day...

Yesterday, Saturday...Miss Bling had an opportunity to be a "buyer for a day" for Belk's junior's department.  she along with about 30 other teenage girls helped provide input and gave their opinions on how to improve the style and look of the department.  her group even won the fashion style challenge : ).  thankful for the opportunity to help get a perspective on what a store buyer does and what role they play in the fashion industry.  she had an amazing time and can't wait for the next time to come around.

Till Christmas! Worked on some orders today! It's not too late to order for that special mom, daughter, sister, friend : )

something new...

i've had my eye on this coffee machine since a friend of mine purchased one a while ago.  and since then another friend bought one because of the same mutual friend and a few more friends have mentioned that they had one and absolutely loved it.  so when the big sale at belk's department store happened to come along i had to buy one for myself.   the price was pure awesomeness and i used it for the first time tonight and can i say....loooooooovee it!

the goal...

A trunk full of Christmas gifts! The goal is to get my Christmas shopping done by the 1st of December. Funny thing is every year I seem to have the same goal but I have yet to meet that goal. I am determined to do it this year. I'm halfway done! Yay me!

most improved...

tonight was the high school's fall sports ceremony.  each sports player who participated in a fall sport was awarded a school letter block and a certificate.  some were alo given individual awards.  we were pleasantly surprised that miss bling received the "most improved award!".  the last picture is with her two coaches.  unfortunantly, she will not continue on with basketball cheer but she does look forward to next year's football season.



fall obsession...

What can I say? Loving the fall colors. In about a week my obsession with all this fall madness will come to an end. On another note, internet connection has been down here. We have someone coming out tomorrow to fix the problem.
